A Christmas Blog

"Cookies? What cookies? Oh, those cookies. Cookie cookies. Yeah, I want a cookie."

Are you sucked in yet? Those are the words of one of us to the other one of us. You know that it is the end of a long week. So we haven't checked in for a while, and again, the purpose of this blog is not to travelogue, so we won't necessarily fill you in with all the doings (except to write that Michelle got a great dentist job in Santa Clarita, and we are happy for that). Instead, we will now record some of our observations about the current status of Christmas music.

First of all, we notice a distressing trend, which is that it is being dominated by the divas. What is with that? We can't turn on KOST 103.5 without a strong possibility of being swarmed with the sounds of Celine, mauled by the melodies of Mariah, walloped by the wailings of Whitney, and jousted by the jingles of Josh. Give us more Frank Sinatra! More Harry Connick Jr. More Kenny G! Just kidding...just give us more different. There is plenty of new and old Christmas music--why is the palette so limited? And you know what else? Not enough free eggnog in the world. Just this month, we have received free 1) Hot chocolate (of varying varieties), 2) hot cider, 3) herbal tea, 4) water, 5) punch, and 6) soda. It is December!!! Where is my free eggnog? Wouldn't that alone make for a jollier, happier Christmas season. It is hard enough to make the season real in Sunny Southern California. Give me some mormon Southern Comfort then--egg nog, virgin.

OK, that was just for fun. We have some pictures we could post, but I feel like the picture/word ratio of this blog has been a little off lately.

So, in summary, go for the cookie cookies, give out some free eggnog, spread the word of non-diva carols, and help to make this Christmas season just a little more jolly.
